i did not update my website for a while, because i was working on new tracks and the upcoming release of my album. i was also on tour with our band called anarres
we went around the baltic sea, first to Stockholm then Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Sortland,Harstad,Lulea,Oulu,Tikkurila,Latvia,Lithuania. we were there for 20 days, i have also played as Monad in Trondheim and Sortland.
the artwork for my album is ready, but the tracks still have not been mastered, i am hoping that it will be released in November, it would be cool to go on a tour somewhere, so if you want me to play @ your venue/squat/basement/kitchen contact me ;]
+ i got myself a KORG EA-1 and KORG ES-1, tried them yesterday in a gig, it was really fun.

updates are coming slow, but i am actualy in the process of trying to master my LP
if you want to release it on your label/netlabel/whatever, dont hesitate to contact me. i will play in a free rave party in the end of august (27th,28th,29th if youre around lithuania look around for info), and also in some minor raves around the summer in lithuania (location unknown yet). also i decided to incorporate live elctronic toy noise into my live set, with our side project “Fuck the soup of jesus bones”.

just a small update, yesterday i played live first time in a party, it was quite cool. i have played live bass over some tracks and on others i just played around with effects in certain parts. also i had bass going through effects in other parts. the length of the set was around 20min + i also tried to completely improvise a track live using loops and synths ;]
i just wanna include a link to one of my latest tracks called “Chinese Balls (the iron ones)”
i am also working on a new track, called “Go Satan” which is in 200bpm and has alot of funny samples ;]
i will post it here when ill decide that its finished, i played it live, but i still consider it unfinished ;]

hey, charles mingus would probably punch me for doing this, but someone on youtube asked for tabs for the intro of this song, so i decided to write it down really fast. you should try to find the score, i have it somewhere.. there is a charles mingus fakebook being sold around, its very good. anyway
here are the 3 diffrent parts of the intro, its not in the order it’s played, but if you know this song, you will figure it out. also i tabbed it the way it’s played on upright bass, you may play the open strings as closed.

hey, for a few days already, i had problems with my avgfree Anti Virus, i couldn’t update it because it was reporting that there is an invalid update control ctf file. after trying to download updates manualy from avg website, i saw that the antivirus databases are still outdated. so i thought, what if i just delete the invalid ctf files, avg should re-download them. so i did that and it worked out fine.
here is how to do it :
start > run
then type : c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\avg8\update\download (or just go there through explorer)
then delete/rename all *.ctf files (i renamed mine to *.ctf1) [if you cannot see the file extensions make sure that you uncheck 'hide extensions for known file types' in tools>folder options>view]
then i started avg update
and voila! it downloaded the new updates ;]
1.starting update after deleting/renaming the ctf files
2.after update was complete
but now its back, so i thought that i will also add some news about Monad. I have joined Dreamcatcher collective Dreamcatcher on myspace so hopefuly soon i’ll play live somewhere. im preparing a live set, including bass guitar and electric guitar. im waiting for my Presonus Firepod. 
also on the 27th of november, i will play bass with Heartphones
currently i made a few new tracks, which are diffrent from what i have released on PI EP. they are not yet finished and i am not sure i want to release them at all. i am working on a few ideas, which i would like to release later, so excpect some more news soon (probably a new track).

i have written a description of the ideas that were behind my EP “Primitive Infrastructure”. The latest news are that i am thinking about changing my direction abit. I still didnt write any new tracks, i am just playing bass and practicing on double bass, banging on the drums in our rehearsal room. I was out in the summer to PGA conference (you can google it). i have started writing a description of our trip to samothraki island after the PGA, i will probably upload it here with pictures after it will be finished.
I have chosen the name primitive infrastructure, because this is how those tracks are made. They are primitive, using programmed drum loops, often have a repeating structure, which leads into something, and then comes back to the same place where it started from. Is it not avant garde or somehow very experimental. At least for me, infrastructure, to me, describes the harsh samples and synthetic sounds I have used, especially the percussive patterns, which might even remind other styles of music. I see those patterns in a way, expressed from what is surrounding me in the daily life, electricity, cars, buses, some sorts of machines operated by humans, very synthetic and in organic. In one track especially, I have chosen to take very simple and standard chord progressions being played in the background while in the foreground there are many other things happening, which are supposed to distract you away from that progression. But in the end, all instruments play a progression which is also very simple, to me it was interesting to try to hide the progression by other samples and sounds, which actually take my attention away from the fact that I am just listening to another progression that I have heard many times before. I don’t think that I can call my music very new or groundbreaking, I am not trying to copy anyone yet, and this is just how I imagine my electronic sound. Like robots pounding their feet in a factory, making strange sounds and sometimes just malfunction. The reason there is a simple bass drum on the 1 in 4/4 in some places in the tracks is somehow supposed to be funny, maybe even cynical. But I would like to mention that I am very much intro goa psy trance. Not the new shit people make now and most people listen to. I like Psychedelic music which was made by musicians, most of it before the year 2000.
